Mike McDermit is the newest member of the MURR senior leadership staff. Originally from mid-Missouri he returned to Columbia with 30 years of experience managing large scale facilities in manufacturing and distribution. In the past he has worked for companies like AAF, Nordyne, Lennox, HSN and most recently working for CW Services at an Amazon facility in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Columbia College with a bachelor degree in Business Administration and a technical degree in Industrial Electronics from Ranken Technical in St Louis, Mo.

Mike is responsible for Facilities Operations directing engineering, machine shop, electronic shop and hot cell maintenance supporting reactor operations and GMP. The engineering department is responsible for project management of building and equipment improvements.

Mike’s current role as Associate Director of Facilities Operation provides an opportunity for him to use his experience to support MURR’s mission “To Provide Quality Nuclear Research, Education, and Services to a Global Community”.
